We have lots of tasty ideas for you to easily incorporate a couple of teaspoons per day of GoldnZing into your day.

  1. The most simple way is to add a teaspoon of GoldnZing to a glass of cold water. As there are no fillers or additives it doesn’t blend easily and you may find it easier to pop it into a shaker bottle or a glass jar with a lid and shake to blend.
  2.  Make a delicious iced tea. Put a little hot water into your shaker bottle, blender or jar, add a teaspoon of GoldnZing and shake/blend. Add a cup of your favourite milk and optionally for extra sweetness, add a little honey or coconut nectar. Then add a few cubes of ice and blend or shake, pour into a glass and sprinkle with a little cinnamon on top.
  3. For a frothy hot tea; Put a cup of near boiling hot water into your shaker bottle, blender or jar, add a teaspoon of GoldnZing and shake/blend.  Add a dash of your favourite milk or coconut cream and optionally for extra sweetness, add a little honey or coconut nectar, pour into your favourite mug and sprinkle with a little cinnamon on top.
  4. Add a teaspoon full to your smoothie. A green smoothie every day increases your intake of amazing chlorophyll rich greens.
  5. Add a teaspoon to your casserole for more flavour, and fight free radicals at the same time.
  6. Add a teaspoon to your curry or use GoldnZing instead of a commercial curry blend.
  7. Add to cauliflower rice, a low carbohydrate alternative to traditional rice and with plenty of healthy fibre. Add a teaspoon of Goldnzing to your cauliflower rice for flavour and colour.
  8. Sprinkle a little GoldnZing on your poached eggs  for a burst of flavour, serve with a side of spinach, sauted mushrooms and a few slices of avocado.
  9. Sprinkle a little GoldnZing into your scrambled eggs. Top with a handful of coriander or parsley to get more greens into your day.
  10. Coat your fish or meat in a dusting of GoldnZing, before cooking to provide a slightly crunchy texture, fantastic flavour and gorgeous golden colour.

A quick note about milk; we strongly recommend using either a nut or coconut milk. In fact, our favourite milk is a combination of macadamia, cashew and almond milk. The quickest easiest way to make your own nut milk is to add a handful of hazelnuts to a cup of water in a blender and blend. I would usually the add a tablespoon of coconut cream to get that creamy texture and the health benefits of coconut medium chain fatty acids (MCT).

You can avoid winter colds and lurgies by making sure your immune system is functioning well. Here is a check list for you:

  1. Are your Vitamin D levels optimal?
  2. Do you have good Zinc levels?
  3. Are you eating a healthy diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables?
  4. Are you exercising regularly?
  5. Is your weight in the healthy range?
  6. Is your digestive system functioning well?
  7. Do you get at least 8 hours of quality sleep?

Signs of Vitamin D deficiency:

  1. Chronic muscle and joint pain
  2. Constantly catching the latest “lurgi”
  3. Chronically low in Magnesium
  4. Low mood or depression
  5. Low thyroid levels
  6. Auto immune disease
  7. High blood pressure

Your Doctor can order a simple blood test, 25 hydroxyvitamin or 25 OH D, for you and you may told that anything over 70 nmol/l in summer and 50nmol/l by the end of winter is ok.  I would suggest you should aim for a reading of closer to 125 nmol/l based on much recent research into optimum Vitamin D levels. The test may also be measured in ng/ml and you simply multiply ng/ml by 2.5 to convert to nmol/l. The NHS UK and the vit D council of USA are recommending a level of 50-70ng/ml which equates to 125-175 nmol/l.

Those of you with a thyroid disorder, auto immune disease or cancer may have a genetic difference in your Vitamin D receptors that affect your Vitamin D absorption. These groups may need much higher Vitamin D supplementation.

When choosing a Vitamin D supplement ensure it is Vitamin D3 and is suspended in a healthy oil such as an omega 3 or MCT oil, not an omega 6 oil. Most of us are already taking too many omega 6 oils and these contribute to inflammation. Always take your Vitamin D supplement at meal times. Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin and this means it is best absorbed when taken with fat, ensure your fat is a healthy omega 3 or MCT fat, look out for my blog on choosing the right fats.

Signs of Zinc deficiency:

  1. Poor immunity
  2. Food allergies
  3. Acne or rashes
  4. Leaky Gut
  5. Low stomach acid
  6. Diarrhoea

People with thyroid issues often have zinc deficiency as optimal thyroid function is essential for zinc absorption. Also those with GUT issues will generally be deficient in zinc. You need optimal levels of zinc to make stomach acid and many people over 40 show low stomach acid signs.
